This new OE German quality carburetor has the later style accelerator pump linkage already installed, and will work perfectly with generator or alternator without any modifications.

The Brosal 34 PICT-3 carburetor which is sold by all other VW parts suppliers was built for use with a standard generator, and when used with an alternator (fatter diameter), the accelerator pump linkage will hit the body of the alternator. The easiest way to fix this problem is to grind a little bit of the alternator body away where the linkage bolt head is hitting. You can also use 2 or 3 gaskets between the carb. and manifold which will raise up the carb. slightly and therefore require less grinding to the alternator body.
